A pre-mortem memorial.
Hello, I am Adriano, the webmaster of this blog.
This blog was born at the end of February 2023 and has a threefold purpose:
- The first one comes from the need to psychically digest and metabolize what will be my inevitable departure. In a nutshell: my death. I have not yet come to terms with what will happen when I die, nor what to do with the one attempt to impose my imprint on the universe. So I hope that writing can help me come to an acceptance of what is in fact the absurd human condition.
- While my body is organic, decaying and inherently mortal, perhaps “copying” a part of my consciousness on a hard drive can give me a vague (false?) sense of “eternalizing” myself. Hence also the name of the site: “Digital Obelisk”; may this site act as a virtual obelisk to my memory.
- Finally, this blog also serves to remind myself of who I was in the past, and in general as a drawer full of memories.
This blog is hosted through the services of Lysianthus (Thank you, Lysianthus!) and generated through Hugo.
I mainly upload longer thoughts here. For short form thoughts, there is Grains of Sand (I still have to translate that, sorry).
For more information about the things I write, you can read the about page. If you want to write to me instead, you can send an email.
Thank you.
